Spring forward to summer
Finally! Days are getting longer, the welcome warmth of the sun is making the occasional appearance and the air is filled with scents and sounds of spring in bloom. Springtime lifts our spirits and gives us a taste of what’s to come during our favourite time of year - summer!
But there’s far more to look forward to than the occasional heat wave; summer is a time when the weather is reliable enough(ish) for plans to be laid with family and friends, to spend time together enjoying life’s simplest pleasures…
We’ve put together a list of our favourite things about summer that we hope will inspire your plans this year. We’re already dreaming about it – where’s our diary?
Longer days
Gone are the days of leaving for work and coming home in the dark. Nothing will encourage you to get outside more than when the clocks spring forward and we gain an extra hour of daylight in the evenings. Use it wisely - go for a run, spend some time in the garden or take a walk with the family and talk about your day. It’s the best way to unwind after a busy day.
The beach
Fresh sea air, sand between your toes and the sun on your back – what’s not to love? If you’re playing in the waves or just topping up the tan, a day at the beach is good for the soul (and so much fun!). Looking to hit the beach in style? Picnics

Your tickets are paid for and eagerly awaited line-ups are finally being announced… A festival can easily be the highlight of your summer - nothing but good music, good times and sunshine (hopefully!). Nowadays there are so many options that cater for all music tastes, groups and families – so take your time to research and find the one that’s right for you.
Camping
We LOVE camping! Near or far, a night spent under canvas is the perfect way to unwind and get away from the stresses of everyday life. Switch off your phone, disconnect, live simply and enjoy good company and the great outdoors.
Going alfresco
Whether it’s a pub garden pit-stop or the annual family BBQ – enjoying good food (and maybe a drink or two) under the sun, surrounded by people you love is a summer moment we wish we could enjoy all year round. Soak up these moments - they could end up being the highlight of your summer.
