Caring for your Cashmere

Nothing, but nothing’s softer than cashmere. It’s incredibly warm and cosy — and just the luxury your wardrobe deserves. It looks great anywhere and everywhere too, from Sunday lunch with the family to a cosy evening on the sofa at home. When you need something extra special, cashmere’s got you covered.

Keeping your cashmere beautiful forever does require a bit of love but trust us, it's so worth it. Show your cashmere just how much you love it by following this simple guide on how to keep it looking its best for years to come…

WASH IT

Regular hand washing will keep your new knits fresh and fluffy (either in cool water or dry cleaned). Use a non-bio detergent suitable for wool and silk as biological detergents contain enzymes that are no good for cashmere fibres. Always hand wash in cool water and then gently squeeze out the excess moisture (never wring out as this will cause the cashmere to misshape).

SHAPE IT

To keep your knit looking its best, reshape while wet, lie it flat and allow to dry naturally. We suggest popping it in between two towels first to soak up any excess moisture. Just make sure you never hang your cashmere when wet as it will cause it to go out of shape.

BRUSH IT

Use a pilling comb to give your cashmere a gentle brush in between washes to get rid of any excess fibres and keep it looking as good as new. Stroke it, comb it, wear it… keep It happy.

STORE IT

To keep away those pesky moths that love cashmere as much as you, store in your drawer with lavender or rosemary bags. During summer, store your cashmere away in an airtight container with a couple of mothballs inside. In winter, or when you’re wearing your cashmere more regularly, pop it away in a breathable bag. If you do suspect moths have been at your jumper, pop it in the freezer to kill any bugs (this might sound a little crazy but trust us on this!).
