Our Evolution: The FatFace Story so far

May 04, 2018

We’ve come a long way in the last 30 years, and it’s been quite a journey. We’ve travelled from mountains and beaches, to coastal towns and big cities to explore our sense of adventure, fun and spontaneity. This is what makes us who we are.

We are FatFace. More than just ordinary, since 1988.

Celebrating 30 years of FatFace

It all started with selling tees from a campervan, which proudly grew into a brand that designs modern, stylish and practical clothing for all the family. Clothes for work, rest and play. We pride ourselves in thoughtfully crafted clothing with you in mind. And each piece is created mindfully, driving for sustainability and treading lightly wherever we go.

Fast forward to today and we’re still as passionate as ever about creating clothing that is perfect for your lifestyle, wherever you wake up each day. We want to inspire you to explore, experiment and embrace adventures.

It's those little details that make our clothes 'just so'.

Created for you

We exist to deliver fashion that allows you to feel free and comfortable. To be confident in your abilities. To be adventurous. To be fun. To be you.

All in the detail

We make sure every detail is perfectly crafted so you’ll notice the difference. Perfectly positioned pockets, oh-so cosy brushed cotton, trims, buttons, zips and labels — every detail is designed to delight. We really do sweat the small stuff.

We go all over to find fabrics, and work hard to get the details just right

Designed by us

From vintage markets to faraway lands, old country homes to rugged coastlines, our designers find inspiration from all over the world. We design everything in-house, from the cut and cloth, right down to trims and prints.

From the cut and cloth to the trims and prints, our clothes are perfectly designed

Built to last

Crafted with care, our clothes are made to take whatever life throws at them. We make clothes to last, which means we choose fabrics that go the distance with rugged stitching and careful construction. The result? Toasty warm coats, cosy jumpers and PJ’s soft to the touch. These are clothes designed to be lived-in and loved — for the long term.

Caring about cotton

Organic cotton is better for the environment, better for the people who produce it and better for you. Which is why we’re using it more and more. We’ve also joined the Better Cotton Initiative, which exists to make global cotton production better for the people who produce it, better for the environment it grows in and better for the sector’s future.
