It’s never too early to prepare for Christmas

November 04, 2022

Our favourite time of year is fast approaching (yay!) and we all know just how busy it can get. To help you on your way to getting organised, here are our top tips to get Christmas wrapped up early, leaving you with more time during the festive period to enjoy what really matters.

Get your diary in order

Offload the dates and details of all social events into your diary as far in advance as possible. Whilst you’re there, pop in important deadlines that might slip your mind, such as when to order the turkey or the last day to send your Christmas cards. Not only will you avoid double booking yourself, but it’ll give you one less thing to think about in the lead up to Christmas, so you can focus on more important things - like mince pies!

Figure out the tricky ones

We all have that one person on our Christmas list who’s super hard to buy for… Finding the perfect gift for those who have everything or little treats for the little ones can be a time-consuming task. If you’re looking for a little inspiration, our gift guide is here to help you find gifts to suit everyone and every budget.

Wrap as you go

Save yourself from spending Christmas Eve covered in sticky tape and trying to get through a mountain of wrapping when you should be spending time relaxing with family and friends. Wrapping gifts as you go will free up more time than you might think, so why not give it a try? And if you want to go the extra mile – our guide to mindful wrapping is filled with great ideas for environmentally friendly alternatives to gift wrapping.

Dish out the duties

If you’re hosting Christmas day, ease the load a little by delegating a few jobs and shopping list items to your guests. Things such as food that can be prepped in advance, alcohol or this year’s family board game can all be brought on the day. Just let people know as early as possible who needs to bring what, and they’ll be more than happy to contribute towards making the day special. It’s a great way to spread the cost too!

Keep tradition

Set plans for your Christmas traditions, old or new, and make it a Christmas to remember. If you’re looking to start a new tradition, an idea that we love is an activity advent calendar. It’s simple; think of 24 activities that the family can do together and pick one every day in the lead up to Christmas. You can keep your favourites to use again next year and add to the list. The possibilities are endless, just remember the best traditions are the ones that bring people together.
