National 4X Series Round 6 - 1st

National 4X Series Round 7 - 1st

Here’s what Scott had to say about the event:

“Just back from another great weekend, where we were racing at the UK Bike Park, Blandford which is in Dorset, UK at Rounds 6 and 7 of the 4X National Series.

In-keeping with the rest of the UK summer so far, it rained throughout the weekend! The track is a new one, but would prove to be great for racing. It has probably the longest first straight of any 4X race that I have ever raced. Then it gets a little more technical with some tight turns, log drops and moguls.

In practice I got to really like the track. I think it is the closest feel to a World Cup track of any track in Britain.

I had a real incentive this weekend. I had only been beaten twice this year so far and that was at the second round of the series. With it being your best 5 results from 7 to count I was looking to have an unbeaten day at just one of the two days racing so that I would have a perfect 5 round score for the overall series.

This plan came true on Saturday, where I won all 4 of my qualifying motos, then went on to win the final. With the pressure off on Sunday, I had no pressure and rode well to again take 4 wins in qualifying, then go onto win the final as well - giving me my 6th unbeaten weekend in 2008.

Out of 45 4X races that I have been involved in during 2008, (motos, quarter finals, semi finals and finals) I have won 43 of them. I am still smiling ear to ear!

So that is the end of the 2008 National 4X Series. I have just found out that I am also the first Elite rider to win both the 4X National Championships and the National 4X Series in the same year. Combine this with my 6th position at the World Championships earlier this year, and it is easy to say this has been my most successful year ever. This is the 4th time that I have won the 4X Series, and I feel there are still a few more series wins left in me!

A huge thank you to all my team sponsors for supplying me with the best equipment and support for the 2008 season. It really does make my job a lot easier knowing that I have an advantage with my equipment before the gate even drops.”

Well done Scott from all here at Fat Face!
