World Cup 4X Round 4 - Mont St Anne, Canada – 24th
World Cup 4X Round 5 - Bromont, Canada - 10th
Here’s what Scott had to say about the event:
"Pretty crazy couple of weeks in Canada. It rained, rained and then for good measure, rained some more!
At Mont St Anne, I punctured in qualifying and destroyed the rear wheel trying to qualify myself to the finals. Scraping in with 29th place, my mechanic from Rocky Mountain Canada - Jeff, set about fixing my bike up for the finals.
With a bad qualifier I knew I had the outside gate position all night which always makes 4X really hard. In the first race I made a good gate but got held on the outside and then couldn't find a way around the guys in front. I was knocked out at this early stage and finished 24th - my worst World Cup result for years.
Onto Bromont and the track was awesome. A minute long and loads of jumps, rocks and even a corkscrew bridge/tunnel made the track one of the best we have ever seen.
In qualifying I rode good and made it through in 10th place. I made it through the first round to put myself in the quarter finals. In the quarters I went into the first turn fighting but had to unclip and put my foot out to save myself from crashing. The rain had made the soil sticky and I couldn't get my foot clipped back into my pedal as it was full of mud. Then in the rock section I got hit and had to unclip my other foot. By the time I got myself sorted I was quite a way behind. I chased hard but went out in 3rd place. This gave me a result of 10th place for the night.
Not a great couple of weeks, but there you go! [well we don’t think that 10th is too shabby! Ed.]
This weekend I am back on Downhill duties at round 4 of the National series at Moelfre, Wales."
Cheers, Scott
