The event was jam packed full of activities, competitions and parties. Top snowkiters from all over the World went head to head in a variety of contests including freestyle, cross country racing and the World's first "Best line" competition where kiters had 30minutes to climb the mountain as high as they could, pack their kite and then free-ride down!
But, it wasn't all that extreme, for those who were new to the sport, the Ozone team were on hand to give a few pointers and get people started. After getting to grips with flying his 6 meter kite, Fat Face Team Rider Andy David donned his skis and was soon blasting up and down the open plain and hitting small kickers! Fat Face's own Marketing Team were also put through their paces with Will hitting his first kickers and Fliss who doesn't ski or snowboard, managing to get going, albeit with a lot of time sitting in the snow and some impressive crashes! Everyone had a great time though and proved that Snowkiting is not as scary or as difficult as it seems. It's actually quite easy to pick up and all who tried it were hooked and want to go back to try it again next year!
Overall it was a brilliant event and a great way to get a feel for what this exciting sport is all about. Next year there will be even more options for beginers and intermediate riders to be part of the event with learn to snowkite packages on offer!
