Attitude: There's always time to get on the water! almost everything else worthwhile can be done after dark!

Why the convoy: The chance to roadtrip round the country with a bunch of mates and like minded people sailing/surfing/partying in new places!!! who wouldn't jump at the opportunity? oh yeah, and the chance to reignite the 15 years of rivalry between me and John H (friendly of course!!).

Currently living and riding at West Wittering, but escaping in search of waves here and abroad as often as work lets me. To be honest this summer's been so amazing for wind and waves i've only gone as far as the Isle of Wight in the last few months!! There haven't been many windless days for SUP but i'm itching at the chance to hopefully get out in some big surf in Ireland after two pretty flat events so far in the nationals. John's September Sessions last year was a great event and i'm really looking forward to competing in some good waves (fingers crossed!) As for Ireland there are quite a few of us who've been going for years-it's a magical place and with SUP for even the flat days i'm not sure we'll be out of the water at all this time! looking back we've had some stunning conditions for surfing and windsurfing/kiting with only a few days off the water in twelve visits (that's better than anywhere else i've been on the planet!!) so we can only hope the Dingle will deal us up some more magic this year. The odd pint of guiness might be necessary for medicinal reasons (the iron keeps your strength up..) and if they've forgotten the last time we partied there we should get the normal warm welcome from the locals, especially in Spillane's. The best bit of all is we've got 'toys' to cover almost any conditions and a bunch of lunatics who are gonna push really hard on and off the water so it's gonna be a pretty special trip...
