Waterskiing is a very tiring and strenuous sport. It takes a lot of energy and works the muscles over your entire body, a normal session only lasts 15 minutes. For first time skiers a general level of fitness would be sufficient and although life vests are worn being able to swim a length at your local pool and feeling comfortable in the water would help s a great deal.
The main Water-ski event in the U.K is the London International Night Jump, held at Liquid Leisure in Datchet, Slough. It is held on the Sunday bank holiday in August. It is an amazing show including the best Water-ski jumpers in the World jumping distances of 67 meters plus in complete darkness under a few spotlights with an exhibition of wakeboarding, barefooting and freestyle skiing.
