There are lots of places you can learn, look on www.wakeboard.co.uk for lakes near you.
What equipment do I need to start me off?
Most clubs will have kit you can hire. You’ll need a board, a set of bindings, probably a wetsuit and an impact vest. Oh yeah… you’ll someone to pull you along in a boat!
There are loads of good facilities around the UK, check out ‘Go Ride’ at www.wakeboard.co.uk
Is there a basic fitness level required at entry level?
Although you will need to be able to swim a bit, you should always wear a buoyancy aid, so you don’t have to be a great swimmer. Most importantly you won’t get far if you’re scared of the water or worried getting knocked around a bit. The fitter you are generally, the less you are going to ache afterwards!
Any big events we should know about?
