Ranked 6th in UK in 25-29 age group. I managed to finish the Ironman France, that in itself is quite an achievement.
Why this sport?
I’ve been a runner and enjoy training outdoors, by doing triathlon I get to enjoy doing all the things I love.
How did you get into it?
I wanted to get involved in a sport that had high goals and would motivate me more than just popping down the gym every Monday after a heavy weekend.
What next?
Get faster and get more experience at the Ironman distance....
Any other sports?
Just a few… rock climbing, trekking, mountain biking, snow boarding, wake boarding and sailing.
Favourite event and why?
I love the Ironman triathlon in France. 5 years years ago I read about the Iron man distance and the crowds were amazing.
Favourite place in the world?
The Home straight
Training regime?
Every day I either swim, bike or run or do a combination of these (called a brick session). I also do core fitness training.
What makes you good at your sport?
My motivation to get out of bed and train on a wet windy mornings rather than hide under my duvet.
Advice to others wanting to get into the sport?
Join the British Triathlon Association, grab a copy of 220 Triathlon Magazine and join a local club. Choose a Triathlon and try to complete your first race, once you’ve got one triathlon out of the way you can push it a little and try to get faster each time.
