Fresh air, adrenalin, fit girls, cool mates and the chance to represent my country.
How did you get into it?
It’s all my Dad’s fault, he’s a keen skier.. I went along for the ride and I’ve never looked back.. except to see him still at the top of the slope.
What next?
Maintain my English squad status, enjoy myself and prove prove myself as one of the best young skiers in the UK
Any other sports?
Freestyle Skiing.. the Dark Side!
Favourite event and why?
The British Championships in Meribel. An opportunity for all the top racers to come together, compete and then have a big party. It’s always at the end of the season so I can have a late night without messing up my training.
Favourite place in the world?
My bed back in England. I really miss it when I’m training.
Training regime?
06.00 wake and go for a 20 min run, then breakfast, at the chairlift for 07.30, train on the mountain until 12.00, lunch, maybe another hour freeskiing, 14.00 back down to do school work for three hours. 17.00 Fitness either in the gym or go for a run. 18.00 Prep skis for tomorrow, 19.30 dinner, maybe do a bit more studying after dinner or watch the video from the days training. 22.00 bedtime. Now you can see why I miss my bed!
What makes you good at your sport?
I was lucky enough to start early and have always had the full support of Ma and Pa and of course.. the Fat Face Crew.
Advice to others wanting to get into the sport?
Go for it but keep your expectations realistic. If you do succeed, don’t get arrogant.
