- Why this sport?
- It’s fun, there’s always a great atmosphere, everyone gets along and it’s the only time I truly forget about work on Monday!
- How did you get into it?
- I got bored of watching the boys enjoying themselves every weekend! I had a go for a laugh and realised that I quite enjoyed it and I wasn’t that bad at it!
- What next?
- Racing as many downhill races as I can and getting a better result in a World Cup 4x race.
- Any other sports?
- Basketball, climbing, snowboarding and sailing.
- Favourite event and why?
- The Fort William round of the World Cup; the atmosphere is amazing and everyone has a good laugh.
- Favourite place in the world?
- My bed! Not particularly adventurous, I know!
- Training regime?
- Riding my bike as often as possible.
- What makes you good at your sport?
- Determination and no fear!
- Advice to others wanting to get into the sport?
- Have a go and don’t be disheartened, because you’ll be falling off quite a bit in the beginning!
- What’s the hairiest situation you’ve found yourself in and how did you dig yourself out of it?
- Coming off the bike up in Scotland and cutting my hip very deeply and needing stitches and not been able to walk. And how did I get out? Lots of strong men carrying me on a stretcher and giving me gas and air!!!
- Who do you most admire in your sport?
- In mountain biking, it’s gotta be Anne–Caroline Chasson, she remains unbeaten even after supposedly ‘retiring’! Also, Shanaze Reed – a very fast BMX racer who should be going to the next Olympics.
- What are your goals?
- To beat my previous 16th position at a World Cup 4x race, hopefully this year! And keep my National series podium for the 4th season in a row. Oh, and get Gold at the National Champions 4x as I’ve gone from bronze to silver and now have just one more left to get!
