Fat Face National Windsurfing Festival
2nd & 3rd September 2006
Wow what a weekend it was!! With over 330 competitors and wind up to 42 knots this has been classed as the best windsurfing event since the late 80's.
Held at the Inn on the Beach on Hayling Island it was an incredible sight to see so many people lining up for a beach start during the Master Blaster races aimed at "normal" sailors. By this I mean that these guys were not pros but your average sailors who were up for a blast against some of the country's top names.
The whole industry came together for this event with some of the importers bringing next years kit down for people to see and test as well as ask as many questions as they could think of to either the importers or to the line up of top names who held "clinics" across a wide range of topics. A massive thanks to Fat Face Team Riders John Hibbard and Peter Hart as well as Dave White, Jem Hall, Jim Collis and Martin Francis for their time standing in the wind and rain imparting their knowledge. An extra special thanks to Peter Hart for commentating for the whole weekend as well, it was great to be kept up to speed with what was going on by someone who really knows their stuff.

Allan Cross and Trevor Funnell and both of their teams did a fantastic job in difficult conditions to make this event such a storming success - a massive thanks to you all.
