Hugh Styles 1st Brit at the F18 Worlds

Fat Face Team Rider Hugh Styles finished a very impressive 5th at the F18 Worlds Sailing Regatta in Spain.

Read on to hear what Hugh had to say…

“So after a very eventful last day with very little wind we picked off a few more places and ended the regatta in 5th overall, from a fleet of 140.

The last day was full of stress as the wind decided to come and go. First the right was good and then the left. We didn't make the best of the first race with a 21st, arrrgh! But we came good in the second race with a 5th and this sealed our fifth spot overall. It’s been a tough regatta with generally light winds and shifty conditions, not ideal for us being slightly heavier.

But we have improved massively through the week, if only we had managed to iron out some of the small mistakes earlier we reckon we could have been 10 points better off at the end of the regatta, and that would have been 3rd, for sure and maybe even winning? Well next years event is calling already and I for one am looking forward to it!!

All the best and many thanks to all our sponsors who have supported us here, special thanks to Nacra Europe, Fat Face and Towergate Mardon. Many thanks to our friends and family for all the support too.”
